RumJourney was created in 2010, but the exploration began long before that. When my wife and I started this endeavor, the range and diversity of rums in the state of Georgia were limited. This motivated us to explore the world, taking us around the Caribbean and the Americas, finding new spirits to learn about. I fell hard for the history, the diversity of the flavor experiences, and how each country brings its own spirited identity to the world expanding well beyond rum. What I have also enjoyed is all the lasting friendships that have been made over the years with folks from all aspects of the spirits and travel industry. This is what led me to becoming a writer, reviewer, and seminar host for the industry.
