Eight Years!  Thank you!

After spending years learning and exploring rums I was inspired by the people who encouraged me to “Write this stuff” down to create my website.  In 2010 with the help of my wife and brother in law, I started up RumJourney.com to share my rum and travel experiences with those who might be interested.  Eight years have flown by and I have had the pleasure of meeting and sharing time with fellow Spirit explorers from around the globe.   From them I have learned so much about not only rum, but also whiskey, scotch, bourbon, armagnac, wine, and beer.  Each of those spirits are part of the historical and the modern story of rum.  It has been an honor to learn from folks and share their passions at seminars, bars, and/or spirited events.

2018 I took a step back and got back to the roots of what excites me about the subject matter of the site and the industry in general.  From New York City, Saint Augustine, New Orleans, and Havana, Cuba this year was a time to re-calibrate, explore, and open myself up to new learning opportunities.

As we enter the ninth year of RumJourney.com expect to see more reviews, more travel write ups, some personal perspectives, posts about favorite subjects like Piracy and Tiki as well as professional offerings in the form of seminars and articles.  Thank you for reading and I hope to see you during my 2019 travels.  Cheers!
