Rum, in the United States and the Caribbean few words have the legacy that it is entitled. As a liquor it has been present at revolutions, naval vessels, drank by patriots, pirates and tyrants a like. Later it was demonized, belittled, forgotten, only to come back swinging into respectability. Now due to this we are enjoying a rum renaissance with a spectacular array of choices.
I am a lover of travel, the ocean, and especially the Caribbean. While working in metro Atlanta I am always plotting a way to get back to my dear Atlantic. I am blessed to have a wife who loves these things as much as I do which makes the travelling all the more fun and exciting.
The pages of this website are devoted to two of my favorite hobbies. Rum and Travel or (in my head at least) the journey. I plan on sharing rum reviews, travel logs, recipes, links, whatever strikes my fancy. I look forward to sharing my adventures and amateur tasting experiences with you.
If you are so inclined feel free to share your thoughts and recipes with me at rumjourney@gmail.com.
Bon Voyage,
Paul
