 Wicked Dolphin which has a solid line up of regular rums with their silver and spiced products has ventured into the world of flavored rum products with their Rumshine line. Rumshine is distilled to 100 proof and infused with Florida fruits. The first three to release are Apple Pie, Blueberry, and Strawberry.
Appearance/Presentation All of the "RumShines" come in the same screw top lid mason jar bottle. A blue security strip connect the lid to the bottle to prevent tampering. The label wraps around the bottle with fun Florida tourist vibe to it. The Batch number is listed and ours happens to be from batch one. No surprise the liquid is purple and when you look at the bottle in the light you see Blue berries suspended in the liquid. I poured the liquid into my tasting glass and the color faded slightly due to the lack of density. Nose I expected two things the aroma of Blue Berries and a kick of higher alcohol vapor. I received both of these notes in abundance. Palate The Blue Berry hits the tongue wrapped in a surprising sugary sweetness. There is a big kick of alcohol on the back that lights the tongue up creating a sharp lively finish and pleasant aftertaste. Review Any product with the name "Shine" in the title had better have a serious kick to it or it is false advertisement. Wicked Dolphin's Blueberry RumShine does not disappoint. The actual fruit infusion is a nice touch and definitely comes through in the flavor. The product can be found in the South East United States along with the other Wicked Dolphin expressions. |
