Participating in a blind judging competition is always interesting. Today judges from around the world gathered in Miami for day one of the Blind Tasting competition for the Miami Rum Festival. In session one we sampled Gold rums that covered the spectrum from no age statement to eight years old in three internal categories. Session two the panel was charged with evaluating Agricole spirits split into two internal categories. Tonight we will gather at the Mai-Kai for Tiki night. This is one of my favorite annual events as the Mai-Kai is a truly special place.
As far as tomorrow, part of the fun of the experience is we know we have two more sessions tomorrow and no idea what they will be. Throw in a few meetings with brands and we have an outline for what I am sure will be a fun filled day. Stay tuned for more daily coverage of the Miami Rum Festival. |
