The final day of the show was open to consumers. Experience had everyone a bit apprehensive as previous years had proved challenging for the brands and participants. Overall it was a good fun loving crowd that made the most of their time with only a few who enjoyed their rum a bit too much. These folks were gently taken care of and to my knowledge there were no repeats of the past. I did hear questions about the Trade only area and the fact that the number of participating companies seemed smaller and why did they have a palm reader?
We spent the final day sharing time with old and new friends, lining up future opportunities, and relaxing as the show came to an end. We enjoyed camaraderie of the judges, the fun exploration made by the consumer panel, and connections made with the brands. Special thanks to all of the volunteers who kept everything running smoothly. I was disappointed to hear after the show that someone had stolen the gator head from the Bayou rum booth. I will be curious to see what the participating companies and attendees have to say about the event. |
